Sex Offender Registry
When you visit this site you can enter your address and a map will pop up with your house as a small icon of a house. There will be red, blue and green dots surrounding your entire neighborhood. When you click on these dots a picture of a sex offender will appear with his or her home address and the description of the crime he or she has committed.
The best thing is that you can show your children these pictures and see how close these people live to your home or school.

#70 | poochee,
an incredible resource!
In the UK the so-called Sex Offender Register in not a national database. Each Police force (30+) in the UK has their own record. It is down to the offender to register any change of address or name change!!!
Outrageous in this day and age.
However, one newspaper 'named and shamed' some offenders (not sure how they got the offender details), some moved away because of this and have never re-registered so no one knows where they are!

#71 | I just found my child's molester. It was 15 years ago we had him put in prison...4 years later he was convicted again in another state. Finally found what state he is in now. His state didn't use to have a data base for us to find him...thank God laws have changed. It will ease my daughter's mind that he isn't in our state any longer...but bless the people he lives around now. When I went to his states registery site, it stated we are not allowed to use the information we obtain to harass him in anyway. What a joke. I don't want to harass him, I would just like to see him in prison for the rest of his life...no more victims.
Keep bumping Poochee so others can find these creeps and be aware of them

I wonder how many parents are checking their area? Some think if they live in a "good" neighborhood they are safe. I have a friend like that. I checked and found she had a molester living three doors down from her and let I her know.

People don't know how true that is Poochee until they check the registry...one is a few doors down from my mother in law. Great neighborhood...you would never know. We have become a society where we really don't know our neighbors very well...everyone is busy living...but they are watching for our children and grandchildren. We MUST protect them by being aware of where they are and warning the children and their parents.

#75 | I understand where everyone is coming from with this but i must say although the acts were haneous and inhumane, we should not over do it when it comes to punishing them as some may have truely realized the extent of their damage and may be working hard to make up for their actions. In the bible, Jesus has forgivin people and says when it comes to shunning, "Let the first person who is absolutely free of sin cast the first stone". Therefore i say if they commit a crime once and live in a peaceful neighborhood and no longer have any run ins with the law, they deserve a second chance and should be treated like a person with a clean record is. if they keep comitting the crime over and over then they just dont care. Their the people we need to watch out for. Because they will be criminals forever but some do change and truly try to repent for their wrongs.
