Chocolate is the very thing I wanted to reach for for comfort, when I had UTIs.
Lotsa, lotsa water even ... if not straight cranberry or cran and water mixture, is best to keep flushing the system. I find that drinking cranberry juice on a regular basis helps to prevent some UTU's from occuring.
Get well soon, William. | Hi Carolyn...nice to see you! *HUGS* All great advice! Being a nurse does help...but I still love advice from others!! First thing I did was cut William off of pop! He loves that a little too much! Fortunately he's not into chocolate! He hasn't had any lately...but he loves Starbursts! I have been giving him both diluted and straight cranberry juice! I'm worried because he has other symptoms that make me think the UTI might be advanced...but hoping not! I'll know after his appointment!
I've had UTI's and they can be quite painful! And you know what I mean obviously! I was in agony then...years ago...a couple Pyridium and the antibiotic and felt better fast! Remember orangish-red pee?
I'll pass on your get well wish to William...he's still sleeping! Thanks for caring Carolyn!
By the way...how are you doing?? Great I hope and pray!

#154 | Hi poochee
We're all excellent, thank you.
I like AI but rarely make an effort to watch.
I like some of the silly stuff at the beginning and I like the last few episodes ... last 6 or so ... then I might watch it more often.
Sometimes, depending on my mood, I get embarrassed for and feel bad for watching and laughing at the really badly untalented peeps. I feel sorry that someone has told them they're good, or hasn't told them they're really awful.
I'm kinda on the fence regarding the self-deemed (obviously delusional and/or under the influence of ?) future super stars, though.
Have a nice weekend.

#156 | I'm really well, Marlene. Thanks.
Hey, sometimes a worried Mom forgets (temporarily) stuff she already, professionally knows. It happens.
Pop has to go for a bit. Get the diet stuff or whatever, and limit that even.
My kids drank way too much milk, pop, flavoured drinks etc., and though they never had a problem with UTIs, they did with their teeth and appetites and my food budget. The water 'round here is not especially tastey so I have a big jug water dispenser thing ... whatever it's called that gets a lot of use now. Even a tap water filter thing helps improve the quality and taste, encouraging more drinking of it, imro. (Don't smack me for that poorly grammared sentence, Di-Twin )
I HATE cranberry juice, but force my self to drink a few glasses a week.
I used to get UTIs regularly, but have had none for 4+ years.
Have a nice day and weekend, alla yaz AI loverz. | | Distinguished Member with 66,600 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: California Experience: Intermediate |

#158 | Not sure if this has been mentioned, but for once I agree with Rosie Mac. It's a shame when an individual is put on display (although this was his choice), made fun of, and then the butt-end of jokes and laughter. The look on that guy's face said it all.
Glad I don't watch the show.

#159 | Update on William: He does have a UTI....but the Dr. wants him to wait until Monday when the urine C&S (culture/sensitivity) results are back to put him on antibiotics! So basically William has to continue to have uncomfortable urination until then....I'm having him drink lots of fluids and take Tylenol until then. But if his discomfort gets any worse I'm taking him to the ER. I don't like seeing my child in pain! I know Drs are worried about the overuse of antibiotics...and a C&S can pinpoint exactly which antibiotic to use...but since the Dr. knows it's a UTI...why not start him at least on an antibiotic commonly used for UTI's! I got no reasonable answer from the Dr. of course! Between being a nurse and a mother...I get aggravated!
