Hey Hotskates! Thanks. I'll check it out. At first I just thought I was so out of touch that it was popular and I was just clueless...

There are 2 Chrises! Just FYI.... I believe Chris Sligh is the one you want. White-fro-guy? Yeah. That guy rules. I agree on Sanjaya getting the boot, but I'm not sure about Sundance. He's had so much exposure. I'm guessing one of the dudes we can't remember.

The girls did great, for the most part. I think we'll lose 2 white girls tonight, though. They were just plain out-sang! It was especially glaring when they played 'em all back to back at the end of the show. Just.... wow!

Yup- Sligh's the one I like.
And you are so right about those pitiful white girls last night. I thought the only one who could actually sing was the one whom I call "Red Patchy". The other ones clearly got their spots by being hot. Which probably, sadly, means they'll do very well.

I also have to admit that this is the first season I've watched American Idol. It's like crack. Thank goodness for Tivo, it saves me so much time.

It IS like crack! You try to look away, but you can't! You try to escape.... but it sucks you right back in. It's amazing, really.

And I have watched since the very first episode of Season 1. I started thinking, oh I'll just watch these terrible people try to audition and then forget it. And then it was like, well my daughter likes it, so I'll go ahead and finish out the season. And it just never stopped. It IS like crack. But unlike crack, you'll be sick of AI by May.

That's funny- I said the same thing- I'll just watch the auditions. But after last and this week I'm done for. I'm most concerned with the fact that after already spending 4 HOURS this week watching, I am actually RELIEVED that it is on tonight. So that will be five whole hours spent on AI in one week. Wow. I think I may open up a rehab center for AI addicts. A place where people can go to stop thinking about which song choice would have been more appropriate for which person, etc.

I'm hooked as well.

Here's a link to the contestants:http://www.americanidol.com/contestants/season6/

Here's who I think goes tonight; Leslie Hunt, Antonella Barba, Sanjaya, Sundance.

Those that are way, way ahead, IMHO are Lakisha, and Melinda, I also like Gina and Sabrina. I also think Phil has a shot, and Chris Sligh is pretty good, but.......

Gals have it all over the guys, hands down.

I didn't get to watch the fellas but did watch the gals. Sabrina was my favorite. I get more into it when it gets down to the better contestants.

I managed to stay awake to see all the ladies perform......here are my opinions:

Stephanie: A cross between Fantasia and Latoya London! Actually sings much better and looks much better than Fantasia! EXCELLENT!

Amy Krebs
: BORING! Nasal sounding...pitchy high notes at the end of her song...BLAH!

Leslie Hunt: Go walk your dogs! She sang "Natural Woman"...wrong tone to sing such a song...although the last few seconds she almost sounded good...

Sabrina Sloan
: Her nose reminds me of Barbra Streisand's...I thought she sang well...she sure can hit the high notes!

Antonella Barbra: She never should have chosen "Don't Want to Miss a Thing"...that's a man's song! She was flat and pitchy...I say she's gone tonight!

Jordan Sparks: Blah! Pitchy! I'll give her a reason to go! (She sang "Give Me One Reason to Stay)

Nicole Tranquilla: Weird! Pitchy! Yechy! I say she's gone tonight!

Haley: Wrong trying to sing a Celine song right off the bat! Nice voice though...

Melinda Doolittle
: If I didn't know I was listening to AI...I'd think she was a REAL singer! She kicked butt...really professional sounding...and she's so happy and bubbly!

Alainia Alexander
: Looks like a young Mariah Carey...but YUCK! Pitchy...another bad song choice!

Gina Glocksen
: Really great voice!!! Didn't like she chose "All By Myself" though...but the girl can sing!

Lakisha Jone
s: GO MICHIGANDER! They saved the VERY BEST FOR LAST!! Flawless performance...hit EVERY Note....she already sings like an American Idol!! And on her daughter's 4th birthday too!

The black girls out sang the white girls by a million miles!!

Going tonight:

Antonella Barbra

Nicole Tranquilla

It's early in the season...at least I got one of the bootees right...BUT...I did have Amy on my boot list...but changed it to Antonella...so I would have had two out of four! The guys...kind of surprised Rudy and Paul got booted with there being worse than them in the bunch!

First four bootees:

Amy Krebs - From my post #385:
