Yeah, last night they showed clips on the 9pm newscast and showed how they did a check to make sure all the technical stuff was ironed out. Why didn't she say anything before they went on the air? And the part where it looks like she's falling asleep? They read the official FOX "explanation" and it basically said that Paula was really tired because she had won some award the night before.

What I'm wondering, is why did her handlers allow her to go ahead with the interviews? Surely, she wasn't acting normal before the cameras started rolling.... We are not stupid! She is HIGH! She needs to check into a "spa" and get that cleared up, aye?

For torture. I had to change the station! Even Gabi was like, "Check the basketball score! CHECK THE BASKETBALL SCORE!"

Hm. Sounds like a personal problem.

It's really full of genius. You should read my really long post about it!

So you watched it? Do your daughters watch AI?

Yes--but they are teenagers--I don't know how that show appeals to adults--they put in some hopelessly untalented people to laugh at with some very talented people and then pick the best one. I'd rather watch the Three Stooges!

It's very appealing to all ages. That's part of its genius. I can watch it with my daughter and her grandmother and not have to worry about questionable content. And that formula is obviously working, considering their ratings and considering the commercial spots for the finale is rapidly approaching Super Bowl numbers. They put 35-45 episodes on per season and they all finish 1 and 2 for the week. FYI: That is a lot.

I've got to say that what was dumb was that basketball game (Oklahoma State vs. Texas) that went into triple overtime while I was trying to watch the beginning of AI.........

Uhhhh, sorry Di but good ratings is not always synonymous with "non-stupid" in America. The show is dumb no matter how you cut it--it does not appeal to the intellectually savvy viewer, hence why young children are equally entertained by it. Contrast that with a show such as CSI, for example, for intellectual stimulation.

Now before you get in a tizzy, I am not faulting you for watching it nor do I suggest that all television must be intellectually stimulating--I still like to watch the 3 Stooges and it doesn't get any more stupid than that--and there are other types of non-intellectual "stimulation" I am partial to as well! I am simply stating the show is dumb (and not my kind of dumb)--don't try to make it more than it is my dear! I mean it stars Paula Abdul for Godsakes.
