Of course, this is something having a girlfriend is very useful for. Although I lived in a flat that was built in 1974 - but might as well have been built 80 years earlier - if I had a girlfriend whose house/flat was rather more equipped for the late 20th/early 21st century than mine was she could help me out with this. Spend the night/weekend at hers and use the facilities she has and I get to work the following day showered, clean clothes etc..and yeah, although I'm not what you'd call a "Suit" it is something I appreciate as much as anyone else.

Also, the physical demands made on me whenever I was working in Bristol - with the dismal infrastructure we have here - meant that I would quite often walk the 12 miles home at the dead of night - and have to be up and into work the following morning. This is OK for a few days - but try it for a couple of years - and you will know exhaustion that isn't just feeling a bit tired after a strenuous day at the office or something. Once this process is established sometimes you are quite literally too knackered to do handwash laundry.

Well - up until 1998 I lived in a 20th century purpose built flat - that seemed bereft of many things others had had for years. LOL! I often thought that it was made from all the spare parts left after the others on the street had been built.

The Town? Hmmm - it might only be 12 miles away from Bristol - but might as well be 1200.
