"I apologize to CrazyComputerMan for my insensitive comment."
"The assertions that it was discriminatory and racist are absurd."
Agreed for "racist". For "discriminatory" ...
"is not the definition of discrimination to treat someone differently because of their disability?"
Yes & no. I'd guess there are numerous definitions "out there". The one that's in my head is "to treat someone
less favourably ... etc.".
"I find it difficult to make the connection between a hearing deficiency and the inablity to use proper spelling, grammar, sentence structure and verb conjugation in written communication."
Got to admit I'm curious about that myself. Maybe a related condition? I'd be interested to know in the sense of something to look out for in future. I mean, in the past I'd
occasionally flag up poor spelling/grammar until one day it occurred to me that ... hey, maybe that person is dyslexic.
"leet-speak ... exemplary of laziness"
Hmm ... maybe. #1 son is pretty literate but can do leet
as well -- like a 2nd language. Maybe shorthand is lazy too (?) BTW (sorry), are you sure you meant "exemplary"?
But mainly,

again for the apology.
