..why that would be necessary, since the whole purpose of this thread is to report spamming to the moderators, and to let others know that the thread in the reporting post has been reported to the moderators, thus eliminating mutiple reports for the same spammer, cutting down on the workload/confusion for the moderators, who are already very busy here. Why would this require posting the spamming members Username??

What difference is the username going to make to the moderators, since the first thing they will probably do is view the reported thread, to verify if its spam or not?

All us members need to do is report the spam thread/reply, the username does not matter.
