What difference is the username going to make to the moderators, since the first thing they will probably do is view the reported thread, to verify if its spam or not?

All us members need to do is report the spam thread/reply, the username does not matter.
if you look at the reports here, I do not know which spam has been reported, so I have to look. If I see the username, I would not report it again.
Maybe you are better with remembering which post number was already reported, but I am better with names.
I know mo0derators will look at the link, I meant the name for us users.

actually, if you just hit the report button and report it as spam, it gets emailed to all of us.

I apoligize if my response to your post seemed short, it wasn't intended that way.

When I see a spam thread, I always check this thread first, before I report it, and click on the links of reported threads, to see what user names have been reported.

I have observed in the past, that when a thread gets reported for spam, the moderators are usually very quick to respond...so normally when I see a spam thread, it hasnt been reported yet. That may just be due to the difference in the time zones, since I am in the Netherlands, I dont know

whatever works for you is good, but I personally find it a pain in the rear, to have to type in a user name, when simply clicking on a thread link, and copy/pasting it here in this thread is suffecient for reporting the spammer. I can see the logic of how you approach the reporting, I just dont feel its my way of doing so!

In the end we all want the same, no spammers, especially the ones who give out wrong information to the wrong sites.
