#67 | Good morning and Hugs to all..
Hi Twinkie Hi Val
I get the results of a bunch of tests later today.. Scary.. but optimism rules today..(if I say it loud enough it will have to be true Right?) I would appreciate some prayers, good thoughts, positive energy and all that good stuff today I've been just a little out of it lately thinking the other shoe might drop.. every little thing seems like too much to deal with.. I'm struggling to not feel that way.. and praying about it a lot.. It is not my normal way of being.. I don't usually feel sorry for myself.. I have so vary much to be thankful for.. It just feels sometimes like my life is one shoe dropping after another.. Like I'm trapped in some weird version of Imelda Marcos's closet.. Guess I can be happy that I still have a sense of humor Anyway, prayers would be greatly appreciated.

#68 | Coming your way. I certainly understand the sense of dread you must be experiencing at this moment. Other people are about to make pronouncements, suppositions, and conclusions about your future. How could you help be anything but apprehensive?
At the same time, the truth, unvarnished is a path toward your freedom, whatever that means. Ultimately, I believe very strongly in faith, in hope, in belief, and I know you do as well. May God be with you as you enter this unknown land. | | Distinguished Member with 12,446 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Land of the Free Experience: Oh, yes... of course! |

Who is Imelda Marcos? And what are you doing in his/her closet!?! | Thank you Twinkie Imelda Marcos was famous for her shoes.. She was a vary controversial First Lady in the Philippines and the only first lady to ever be tried in the USA for racketeering and fraud (acquitted)
interesting life this woman has led
Imelda Trinidad Romuáldez-Marcos (born July 2, 1929 in Manila) is a former First Lady and influential political figure in the Philippines. She is known as the "Steel Butterfly" and remains a controversial figure not only in her home country, but around the world. Her extensive shoe collection is world-renowned.[1]
In 1966, Ferdinand Marcos became the 10th President of the Philippines. Together with Imelda, he would rule the Philippines as a Dictator from September 21, 1972 up to until he was ousted on February 1986 in the famous People Power Revolution when he fled the Philippines.
After the Marcos family fled Malacañang Palace, Imelda was found to own 15 mink coats, 508 gowns, 888 handbags[11] and over 3000 pairs of shoes.
Marcos was the first wife of a foreign head of state to stand trial in an American court. In 1990 she was acquitted of racketeering and fraud charges.
Marathon trials of 10 graft cases
On September 21, 2007, the Sandiganbayan's 5th Division chair Associate Justice Ma. Cristina Cortez-Estrada granted Marcos' motion for daily trial on her 10 pending graft cases (beginning January 21, 2008, as requested by defense lawyers on September 17 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imelda_Marcos Quote: |

#72 | I'm tired of things going so well for me and then having them crash down upon me. I've come to the consensus that the fates have cursed my life. Maybe it is the monkish life that I'm meant for....
(and I'm not talking about minor set backs, I mean major things. I've had a car and two motorcycles stolen in 2 states I've resided in in the past 10 months. I've had most things I've enjoyed taken away like mixed martial arts due to ridiculous injuries, I'm apparently physically frightening to women regardless of my absolutely harmless intentions, and those who are not frightened are either not appealing to me or are afraid of commitment...it is frustrating) | | Distinguished Member with 12,446 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Land of the Free Experience: Oh, yes... of course! |

#73 | Hi, Bea ~
3,000 pairs of shoes!!!!!
If as you said you felt your life was like one shoe dropping after another... and referred to this woman... then there really shouldn't be a concern on your part! Think how long it will take for 6,000+ shoes to drop.... one after the other! | | Distinguished Member with 19,132 posts. | | Join Date: Nov 2002 Location: Upstate NY Experience: enough to know better |

Whatever your results are, you will get through this. Dont beat yourself up too much for feeling sorry for yourself. We all do it and for far less things. Its a natural response to stressful things, I think. If this didnt shake you up a whole bunch then I would really be worried about you! You keep on trying to ride it all out. If you fall down, just get back up, put those moments behind you, and keep trudging on.
mush,
val
ps..dont forget to eat your peas, girlie.

I dont think you are cursed. Its just that bad things happen to good people and no one is ever free from troubles. I hope you get over the rough spots soon. *hugs*
