Will do.

How far into the urban areas has it reached or is it still in the mountainous out lying areas?

It is smack in the middle of the urban area's 250,000 people have been evacuated. And will most likely burn all the way to the ocean in some parts, they are saying.

I think I just saw Mulder's wife on the news. I sent him a PM to see if it in fact was.

It seems to be getting worse. They will not have containment until at lest the 4th. We are using CraigsList here to help people find housing and places to keep animals.

Over 500,000 people displaced so far and no sign of the fires slowing or stopping.

Foothill Ranch was just on the evening news with Katie Couric. Has Mulder contacted anyone?

We are fine--firefighters did an outstanding job saving our house. If you want to see some amazing video watch this:

http://video.knbc.com/player/?id=170541

The local NBC affiliate filmed this entirely from our backyard. Its pretty amazing--they interview us at the end. Make sure you watch it all the way through because they (the news crew) think the firefighters had fought off the fires, but it comes up again later in the video (about 12:20 to 10:45 counting down is the segment that is most amazing) and puts a firefighter on his butt. We were watching from inside the house. Once that happens you can kind of FF to the end (1:40 left) where they interview us. All this was going on in our back yard and was broadcast live--they actually broadcast from there for a few hours. I have video from earlier that shows the prgression of the fire from the ridges across from our house earlier in the day.

That low quality film does not do justice to the intensity of that fire. I have to tell you I saw several huge firewalls come up and thought there was no F-ing way the firefighters would hold that fire back. But I guess they knew they had a very defensible position. I'll post some before and after pictures for you guys later.
