was she the log-cabin girl who fished and trained horses? If so then Yes, I really liked her. Or was she the last one who auditioned? If so then she was also very good. It was so nice to hear when someone good came on. The side-show stuff is funny but then someone comes on who can sing and it makes you look forward to Hollywood and when the real competition gets underway!

and good grief....the guy who waxed his chest........ Ye-ooowch!

'American Idol' Premiere Lowest Rated in Four Years
The seventh-season premiere of Fox’s “American Idol” was its lowest-rated in four years.

“Idol” fell from last year’s series-high premiere perch, yet was once again a ratings titan that readily blew away all competitors Tuesday night, as well as all other network premieres from earlier this season.

Did you all see the girl who was a horse trainer? Sold her barrel racing horse to get there (How many others cried when she said that?)?

I bet she wins.

She's got great potential, I agree. But I wouldn't put her at the top just yet. She sure hooked me. How about the gal that got sideswiped and lost an eye?

i don't know about her... she has personality... but I don't think she has the voice compared to others.

Yes, her voice did not stand out, but I've watched others develop, so you never know. I just loved her attitude. Talk about happy to be alive

"Idol" hands Fox another ratings victory
Wed Jan 30, 2008 3:58am EST
By Paul J. Gough

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox rode "American Idol" to another weekly win in viewership and the adults 18-49 demographic and was aided by big numbers for the premiere of "The Moment of Truth."

Fox won four primetime nights: Tuesday and Wednesday with "Idol," Thursday with its game shows and Saturday with "Cops" and "America's Most Wanted." NBC won Monday thanks to "American Gladiators" and "Deal or No Deal," while ABC took Sunday with a strong "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Nielsen Media Research released the data Tuesday.
