Well, two are gone now, and after singing their songs, they have clearly validated the judgment of the public, IMO.

we didnt watch last night. Carl had Survivor on. I forgot to check to see who got booted after it was done. Bummer Colton went home so soon. He was really good. Simon was cruel to Garret the other night with the whole "get some sun" comment, the meanie.

I still cant decide who I want to see go all of the way!

I liked 5 of the performances tonight. Luke Menard, David Hernandez., Jason Yeager, Checkizie, and David Archuleta. I was let down by a few performances, in particular Michael Johns whom I really liked until tonight. I disagreed with all the judges about Jason Yeager, I simply liked his performance. Until tonight, I'd never paid attention to Luke Menard, I loved what he did tonight.

Lastly, David Archuleta. His performance was outstanding. With a superstar, there is a magnetism, and an expectation of something profound. I thought he exhibited both those qualities tonight.

I completely agree. Fascinating to watch how every time, he's a young, self-effacing, shy young boy, then the music starts and suddenly he's a mature, charismatic, awe-inspiring professional singer, then immediately after the last note, he's suddenly the shy young boy again.

He's got a gift that is just astounding.

Tonight's picks: Carly Smithson, Syesha Mercado, Alaina Whittaker, Alexandrea Lushington.

Disappointments:

Amanda Overmeyer, Ramiele Mulabay

For the first time I agreed with every word Simon said when he described Carly Smithson.

I hope both Amanda, and Ramiele can pick the right song, because I believe in both of them.

Well thank you. I said it so many times, I thought I'd make it my signature. This is something I believe at my core. Of course, no one would recognize Simon if he took it to heart
