#77 | I loved the first girl (with the Irish accent ) I like the rocker girl when she is in her element but I totally cringed last night..from her outfit, to her hair to her song choice. I thought it was awful. I wish she would sing a Janice Joplin tune...Bobby McGee would be perfect! I think that was a 60's song, though?

#79 | I'm disappointed, 3 of the people I picked as the best performances this week are gone. But the talent this year is better, so I guess that's the cost of raising the bar. #80 | that was so sad I hate Thursday night kick-off. I dont know how they get through it without falling apart. And I know its good for ratings but do they really have to drag it out that long while they stand there waiting to see who goes home? Arghhh...

#83 | Right now, I'd say that David, and Carly are the two to beat. We'll see what happens.
Yes, the elimination process is hard to watch, but that is real life. The entertainment business is a cruel master, one with many rejections, and we see it on Idol in a concentrated form, which makes it even more dramatic. But the cream does seem to rise, and in the end, we all benefit. | | Distinguished Member with 19,130 posts. | | Join Date: Nov 2002 Location: Upstate NY Experience: enough to know better |

#86 | Up to the last Men's night, Jordan Spark's You Never Walk Alone was the best song sung in the entire competition from Season 1... David A topped that one with his song.

#87 | Having become an Idol fan for several years now, I've come to understand that the process involves the following process; the successful candidates must produce a consistent level of performance, they must possess a passion for music, and they must have a passion for performing to audiences. If they possess the above criterion, then they will develop a following of fans that share those passions. I think Daughtry would be a good example of that, as is Carrie, it is what drives them.
So we're down to a few enough candidates, I feel I can comment on them all now.
Luke: Like him, didn't like the performance. Too high pitched, almost hurt to listen.
David Archuleta: I liked his performance at the piano, didn't like the rest.
David Hernadez: I thought he was a great fake, not a winning performance.
Michael Johns: I liked his performance, but not as much as the judges did.
David Cook: He's growing on me.
Jason Castro: A good performance, if he can just get comfortable in his own skin, the whole package could be a winner.
Daniel Norriega: Irritating, unreal, a poseur.
Edit: Chikesie, I completely disagreed with Simon on this one. I thought his performance was brilliant, well suited to his talent.
If my judgment goes like it did last week, I'm completely wrong, but we'll see.

#89 | I am gonna give my opinions on the last 2 nights too. I think the men are the ones to beat this year.
Luke: Liked it but it was a bit too girlish sounding to me.
David A: Loved it. He is my favorite right now but Simon was right...he needs to sing some happier songs too.
David H: Perfect song for him. I loved it! Very smoooth, imo.
Michael: Didnt like his performance.
David C: Loved it!
Jason...what was up with the last note! It sounded like his voice cracked terribly!
Daniel: I love his voice and he has a very photogenic face but he needs to show a little more humility and less of the attitude, imo.
I predict Luke and Jason to go home tomorrow night.
The girls...oh my. I cant seem to get enthused them. I really liked Syesha's Whitney song...awesome.
The more I see Amanda (rocker girl) the more I dont like her. She always looks very uncomfortable to me and I think she is going to bomb if she ever has to sing a ballad.
I'll predict Amanda and the girl who does the impressions to go home.

#90 | Yes, I think Kady goes home this week.
Asia 'H Epperson: Good performance
Amanda Overmeyer: I didn't like her performance as well as the judges did. I like her a lot, but I'm not sure Idol is right for her.
Carly Smithson: Nailed it!!! I believe she'll have a career, whether or not she wins.
Kristy Lee Cook: Finally picked the right song.
Ramiele Mulabay: I never tire of hearing her sing, she is a delight.
Brooke White: Ho, hum.
Seyesha Mercado: Very, very nice. | | | |
