Hewee - sounds like a "major" reno going on at your place.

"Ice cold" here outside today, -20C, crisp snow, bright sun and no clouds) beautiful morning to look out the window. It got up to +3C (~37F) yesterday afternoon - I was actually out without a coat. We had a number of water mains break in the downtown area (as expected).
Yea but the new range works now.

Well when they put in the gas line it was not in the way of anything because the drop-in ranged cleared everything.
But guy was out and the newer slide-in range back right support/side leg was right where the gas line was at. He cut the toe kick behind the gas line and push the pipe back some but it still hits. To move it back more you have more major work because you got a cabinet to the right of it and the wall and that is in your way because the gas line in under the cabinet. The counter top should of been cut back more but he did not cut it and I see about a 1/16 gap. It needs to go back about another 1/2 but that gas line will not let you. There is a metal thing that could fill the gap at the back of the range and it is made to screw on but no way to screw it on. Another strip of wood could be added to the under side of the counter and then it could be screwed on.

I used the oven and I will time it later to see how long it takes to preheat because you turn it on and see PrE and when it gets to your temp it beeps and then shows the temp. I have for years always timed the cooking by adding 5 min's to it and it has worked and that is about how long I think it took to preheat.
The burner are great and you can turn them so low that I turned out the lights to see them. But I am going to love the burners and the great control over the flame and how easy it is to adjust.
The burn grates are big and heavy too. I am used to one grate for each burning. But this is a continuous grates look. But others I have they are 3 or 5 grates but this one has only 2 grates for the whole top.
It is ADA Compliant so those with Disabilities can use it and the controls will let you do that really easy but those grates could be to much for others to take off because they are so big and heavy.
Darn I wonder if cooking in the oven will be so much nicer. I know after 18 years at the other place that things were OK and cooked but then later some things did not cook right and after I moved here I said wow thing cook better here but then it got really bad. Now I got a new range and I think a computer controls it too. So I wonder now if have cooked anything the pass 18 years just right.
Guy said not to use the self cleaning to clean the oven because it can burn out the control panel. I said what, why do they have it then if you can't use it and said because they make more money because people want it.

But hey my meal from the oven came out great.

Hey get better Nicole. Not any fun having back pain and I know.

OK let me make some coffee and heat up water for the tea.

Your not as glad as I am Sir. Almost 3 weeks with no oven get really old after about 5 days. Darn I have not made the great oalmeal cookies in a long time so I should make some. I always cooked them on the center rack and most oven you only have 4 slots so only one near the center but this oven has 7 slots for the racks so I could have 2 racks near the center to cook cookes. Make them twice as fast to. The manual tell you what slot to use and it will say C or D but it says not to use one right over top of another but to stagger the pans on the rack so use B and D.
Plus I just fixed that gap at the back. He had me thinking you hooked it to the counter. But it screws to the back of the range so I pulled it out and put it and and slide it back so it looks better now.
