I would have been on the phone with Quiznos management to complain, and unless they could cite specific policy regarding such a placement, I would side with your boycott.
It sounds like Canada reveres the Poppy box much like many Americans revere our flag. |
Thanks for understanding Mike. The Poppy in Canada is symbolic of all those that serve our country, especially those that made the supreme sacrifice. To be sneered and laughed at by somebody that doesn't even know what it means - but should - is a great insult. The meaning of the Poppy and November 11 should be taught in immigrant classes.
But back to the topic at hand. I still wouldn't eat there anyway as I don't do fast food. Melissa and I are pretty damn good cooks and no restaurant can deliver food that is both cheaper and better tasting than what me make ourselves!

Another thing: When we cook we know exactly what ingredients are in our food, and how much.
It amazes me how many cars are lined up at the Tim Horton's drive-through every morning at 6 AM. Then I see the same people at work every morning sucking down their extra large double-doubles and munching doughnuts. Apparently they have such a 'busy' and 'productive' lifestyle they can't get up an extra fifteen minutes to make a proper breakfast?
