I read this article on my ISP’s (Netscape) Home Page Link to their Home & Real Estate Section! I thought it was quite interesting and wondered what TSGers thought! So I thought a Poll might be fun! Why not give your opinion on the subject! Let’s see where this goes! After all, we all…. men and women…. have to Grocery shop sooner or later!
This article suggests that many men are now doing the grocery shopping for the family…. but they feel overwhelmed once they walk into the store! Seems grocery stores were designed for women and how women shop! There are tricks that some grocery stores use such as placing cheese next to wine to entice shoppers into buying both! Or they place favorite brand names next to their more profitable store brands hoping the shopper chooses the store brand because it is cheaper but comparable in contents! But tricks like this don’t work so well on men because they are less likely to buy anything off the list!
This article went on to suggest that men never ask for help when they can’t find things! If something on their list isn’t available, they don’t find a substitute!
It also suggests that men focus on convenience rather than price! They get used to buying certain brands and too many choices tend to overwhelm them!
What do you think? | Hi twin,
Uh, just what is meant by "better"?
For example, if a woman buys a loaf of "whole wheat" and a man buys a loaf of "whole grain" bread - which is the so-called "better" purchase? Nutritionists would say the "whole grain" is the "better" purchase, but does that make the man a better shopper?
Most kids cereals have ingredients that are not nutritious for a healthy, growing kid. So, don't buy what they want (from the TV commercials, but get them something healthy).

#17 | I love to help old men and ladies in the grocery store.....those poor things, my heart just goes out to them. They just look so lost sometimes wandering around that big old store with all those choices. If I see that they are kinda confused looking I'll always ask if they need help finding something (or help reaching something).
It makes me happy to help people like that

And some of the women I know.... you ought to see what they throw away each week! Either they bought too much.... bought something they didn't intend to use right away... or they had no idea what to do with it!

-- Tom | Hi, Tom ~
This article obviously didn't take into account the 'label-readers' category... of which I am a member! It takes longer to shop (all that label reading!) for the most nutritious (better) items until you become accustomed to repetitive purchasing habits!
So.... if you want to base your choice on that.... Who is more conscious of nutritional values..... Men... or... Women? Hmmmmm...... I still think Women!

I know people that will say "Ooh! Look! These are half off! Let's buy a truck load." If I can freeze it properly... I buy a larger quantity when on sale! (Meats, Breads)
I really watch out for shelf life on staples though! I always put the most current dates in front of the longer dates when stocking the pantry!
These days.... who can really afford to waste food? Certainly not me!

So I wandered over to Google and found out that it is an aphrodisiac.... and/or takes care of 'little' problems like ED and impotence! And to top that off... side effects are awful! Before picking up that particular supplement again.... I'd recommend good old-fashioned for........... Oops! Sorry! I can't say that here! Anyway.... just be a careful shopper and READ THOSE LABELS!!!!!!! If you'd like.... I'll PM you some options** that definitely don't involve risk!* *Please check with your wife first! **Items may appear small at first but gradually increase.... guaranteed!

It's actually only available in the U.S. by prescription! Well.... you might have to confirm this with Mulder... but it could be he shops at the local 'Hidey Ho... Here We Grow' Pharmacy just outside of San Francisco! I understand there's a fruit market right next store!
