omg!

used to have a young chap living underneath worked hard all day, got drunk in the pub then he'd come home with a lady and shag all night. kept us a wake all the time until i shouted at the pair of them one morning - in the middle of the street - at 7 am .

he moved out......then the trouble started........

in moves a couple late 50's early 60's, she's diabetic can't work?, he's on invalidity - bad back? with them comes daughter and half the west midlands police force....... lovely girl, drugs, alcohol, burglary etc etc.
also two other daughters, and two small grandchildren who stop occasionally - yes i know 2 bed flat?

you've never heard noise like it, doors slamming, kids screaming, gentlemen callers climbing in and out of bedroom windows, debt collectors.

you wonder why i lost my marbles for a bit - talk about living on your nerves.
we went out one day, i had a bit too much to drink and decided to pogo round the house to let them know what it sounded like, well the cheeky b*stard came and threatened me, so calming hubby stepped in between me with a knife and him with a red face and explained what had been happening. he promised all would go quiet , it did for a while.

so the end of the tale is who cares, in the day i'm here on my own quiet, they are not at all, on a night i'm at work and ste's happy with his sub woofer.

LOL This thread is killing me.. Loved this part..

My sister's ex-husband lives in a 20 year old trailer and has a projection TV. He only recieves 4 channels.
I have a 21 inch monitor with a 450 watt speaker system on my computer.. The TV is in the corner.. On average I am home about 10 hours a day and out of that some is sleeping.. TV is background noise for the most part. But it is a 35 inch anyway...

We get on pretty well with the neighbours, one side is hard of hearing, other side is DIY nut so he gets music back for his banging. My Naim hi-fi system some of Englands finest is more than a match for his hifi if it comes to a contest. No sub yet can't afford the $700 for the one I want.

That's the nice thing about small towns, no complaints when your TV or stereo are cranked up.

I personally have a 52" projecting in the rec room, but considering the room is basically half of the basement (12'x40') it works great. I can play pool on one side of the basement, and still read subtitles if the movie has them.

I only have 3 TV's (2 bigger, 1 smaller) and 1 stereo. But, and I'm not trying to one-up anybody here - I do have a real WWII hand-grenade. It's on my desk just beyond my reach. When I'm angry at my PC I will frequently look at the grenade, then at the PC, then back at the grenade, back at the PC and so on. It is therapeutic, AND... my PC seems to get the message.

I guess not all small towns are built the same When I moved here 23 years ago (pop. 3300) I hired a couple of fellows to install a new subfloor. They brought their six packs and boom box. About an hour into the job the police showed up because of a noise complaint. Not sure if it was the Mayor who lived across the street who called it in, or the elderly couple next door, but that was my initial greeting to Thermopolis. I knew I "wasn't in Kansas" anymore

Just checking The fact that you're still able to post is enough evidence for me. I just hope that Rhettman doesn't get a hold of this.
