Wink Oddly Enough
A place to catalog the foibles, complexities, stupidities, eccentricities, and just plain strangeness of the human condition, and then our discussion if we care too. This is all about having fun with each other.

Cute Subject descriptions get extra points!

I think you're right. This is right about so many people. TV Envy! I was in a small house yesterday. In the small living room they had a huge sectional couch. What was left of the rest of the room was covered with a wide screen TV. All I could conclude was "What were they thinking." Too funny.

So I'm assuming their parties consist of tv and more tv.

I've been to a few that's all they do is watch tv and I can do that at home. What fun!!!! Of course, then there is the parties for SuperBowl or a race so I guess I just contradicted myself - Guilty as charged.

I try to keep the equipment in proportion to the room. In the Living Room, I have a 27" Panasonic, a Dvd player and a VCR sitting on top of a French Style Sideboard. Is big enough to see from anywhere in the room without overpowering the room. The only way I would have a bigger TV was if I had a very large greatroom. My bungalow has smaller rooms and 27" looks plenty big from my couch.

My bedroom has a small 13" Sony color TV, sitting on a Highboy opposite from the foot of the bed. It is only usually used in the morning while we are getting ready for work.

Now, I do have 3 stereos in the house. One inside the highboy in the bedroom, one in the kitchen and one in the sideboard, but they are all bookshelf systems and are hidden from sight in the bedroom and living room.

Size is not as important as balance for me.

Now, my wife's ex-brother in law bought a 51" tv and a converted antique chifferobe to go in a living room that is only 18" long and 12 feet wide. He sits about 5 feet from the TV.

My sister's ex-husband lives in a 20 year old trailer and has a projection TV. He only recieves 4 channels.

4 TVs 3x12" 1x 28" 2 videos 2 sattelite systems. main hi-f(separates) in living room with home cinema decoder and DVD. Both kids have sound system in their rooms. It can get kinda noisy here.
Mum and dad bought a 9" Pye tv for the Queens coronation we had to "black out" the room to see it.

Gee
I feel so inadequate. I only have one 27" Satelite TV HomeTheater System. My wife says the sound is so authentic it scares her sometimes, and she's always trying to answer the phone that is ringing on the TV
