Didja ever race high banked ovals in a HP stock car?
BTW, I have nothing against open wheel racing.
I was a frequenter to the California 500 back when the NASCAR teams ran on Saturday and the big race was the open wheeled race on Sunday.
I have watched both types race at Ontario (Oval) and at Riverside (Road).
I saw the best of the best race in both sports. I've witnessed Rick Mears skid out, do a 360 degree on the track then go on to win the race. I've seen Gordon Johncock go by wheels up right in front of me down the track.
I've seen the King win twice. (That'd be Richard Petty)
I'm not partial to either, but NASCAR overtook the Indy cart cars as a spectator sport over a decade back. NASCAR stock cars are built for show. They're slower, and they don't corner as well. So to compensate they throw 42 cars on the track at the same time instead of 25.

It's never dull.
Not to mention (but I will) that you can see your NASCAR driver in every turn, not just the one you happen to be sitting at.

For giggles, you need to check out Jeff Dunham with "Bubba" at youtube.
