As far as cartoons, my personal, all-time favorite is Foghorn Leghorn.. | those cartoons my son watches, I don't like any new cartoons, for adults or kids.
Now WKRP was brilliant and MASH (first I didn't like it because I don't agree to make fun of war, but then I understood, that people could relieve the stress of war with comic reactions) | | Community Moderator with 16,982 posts. | | Join Date: Jun 2002 Location: Cowtown, against my will Experience: PHD -poop handling degree |

Of course the classic would have to be: I didn't know turkeys could not fly!! | "These lines represent where walls would be if I had any."
Chy Chy Rodrigueeze!
"As God be my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!" I still have a few episodes of WKRP on VHS. That is one of them! Quote:

Les was such a goofball... instead of cutting away to a commercial or something, he covers it like the Hindenburg disaster!! Mr. Carlson and the rest just had to sit and listen at the station!!
That show had some really good writing on it.

#34 | Yes! And that entire episode was a half hour joke and Carlson's "As God be my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!" was the punch line. Excellent writing indeed. #35 | Hmmm....my favorite TV shows (a toss up between Sewing with Nancy & America's Test Kitchens) don't really have a "plot", so I guess there's nothing really that is the "latest" to post. I'm hoping for some Sewing with Nancy re-runs because she had a 3 part program about serging the day that the over the air broadcast went out...at the time we didn't have a converter box, so I missed the next parts of the program.
America's Test Kitchens started a new thing called "Cook's Country" a while back and that was pretty good, but I can't find it any more.
I'm starting to get into some of the shows on the Create channel too. I'm completely IN LOVE with Rick Steve's show about his travels all over the world--I would kill for his job!! I am also kind of getting into that show Jacques Pepin's "Fast food my way" or whatever it is. Oh! And the stained glass show with Vickie Payne!

#36 | Hmmmm....one of my absolute favorite shows only made it three seasons....before the lead character died. And a similar show that I really liked didn't make it very many seasons either....it's a shame though, the joke sessions with "Alice" were definitely entertaining. | | Distinguished Member with 6,102 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2002 Location: Hot, California Experience: Advanced |

I love the Antiques Roadshow!! One of my all time favorites was a Hunting Helmet used by (I believe) Alaskan indians. The symbols on the side would represent what they were going to be hunting. The mom was using it to hold pecans, and had fixed it with scotch tape.
The thing is, the auctioneer was jumping like a rabbit at the beginning of the recording, so you knew it was going to be something good. In the middle of his presentation, "There are 7 in known existence.... sorry, make that 8...."

... | Hi Farmgirl22,
America's Test Kitchen followed by Cook's Country is on your local PBS station if you can get those stations over the air (as I do with my DTV hookup). Try visiting the web site pbs.org and enter your zip code by visiting the TV Schedules link. Or, search for America's Test Kitchen web site and/or Cook's Country web site which should reveal local broadcast times - usually on Saturday at 3PM here in Boston for ATK following by CC the following half-hour.

At its heart it is still a show about these characters and like Battlestar Galactica if one were to get rid of all the science-fiction elements from the show it would still be an excellent character piece.
Now that Battlestar Galactica is over, LOST is the only show that I think is worth watching, because it is the only show that maintains continuity from previous seasons. It is the only show that does not treat its audience like idiots. They don't spoon feed you each and everything. You are actually required to pay attention and remember the stuff from previous seasons. It is also very rewarding for long term fans, characters who were only mentioned in passing in the first 2 seasons have now become an integral part of the show. We are learning that even the little things wee saw in earlier seasons are very important and have new meaning in light of recent events. Especially now that we are getting answers to mysteries anyone who does not watch this show should pick up the Season 1 DVDs and get on with it. | | Distinguished Member with 2,300 posts. | | Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Arlington, TX Experience: Beginner |

#45 | Any The Office fans (American version)? I'm not sure about the new angle where Michael and Pam are going to start their own business. Anyone seen that one?
NOTE: The show always carries a certain level of anxiety with me. It has just increased.. | |
