All my favorite shows are ending: Castle, House, Lost, and American Idol. This summer all that is new is The Bachelorette......and I'm not watching that show....its a joke. Guess I'll have more time to read that stack of books I've collected this summer

My favorite shows are always changing.

Hubble live -

The astronauts are scheduled to install a Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3), a Cosmic Origins Spectograph (COS) and several other instruments a level of repair never attempted before in space. If successful, the WFC3 will improve the telescope's sensitivity to visible, infrared and ultraviolet light by 10-30 times, and the COS will improve Hubble's sensitivity by ten times.

Yes okay so I am a geek. I love all the Discovery, History Channel and Science Channel programs that are NOT monsterquest and UFO sighting speculation/debunking. Anything more on the factual scale is for me.

All these posts and not a mention of 2 1/2 Men.

Funniest current show on TV(that I have seen).

Hands down. The only drawback is that Jake is getting older. It takes away just a bit.

Funny you should mention.... I watched Hot Shots over the weekend, and Sheen and Cryer were in it together.

I like Two and a Half Men as well. They'll have to rename it Two and Three-quarters Men.

I also like Gary Unmarried. That guy is funny.

Anyone see the finale of Grey's Anatomy? I didn't expect that to happen to George and all along I thought it was that guy that had his leg taken off and wanted to go back to Iraq.

With the exception of Eleventh Hour, all my shows are coming back in the fall. House MD, Bones, all three CSIs, NCIS. NCIS I just learned is going to have a spinoff NCIS: Los Angeles. Will give it a try. Hope they do as good a job with that one as they've done with the original.

The only season finale that was really bad was Bones. Although how long it will take Booth to get his memory back is the only real suspense there.

House is in a mental hospital as the season ends. Will they finally get him off the Vicodin?

Yeah, these summer breaks are a lot longer than they used to be. Heck, we have about
3 1/2 - 4 months before the new seasons begin. I remember when they were only 2 to 2 1/2 months. Will check out a few of the summer replacement shows. Royal Pains (I believe that is the correct title) looks interesting - concierge doctors in the Hamptons.

Thank goodness NCIS and House reruns are always in good supply thanks to USA.

I doubt that. The House/Cuddy hookup was a disappointment though. After all the hype, it turned out to be a figment of his vicodin loaded imagination - along with Amber. There was some talk that Stephen Fry (his old comedy partner from England) would do an episode. Since he already did a psychologist (or psychiatrist don't remember which) bit on Bones, maybe he'll be House's shrink in the first episodes of the new season. Now that would be a riot!! Talking about Bones that was another imagined hookup - what a disappointment.

I'm so sad that Eli Stone has not been renewed. I really liked that show. They should have one last show to tie up all the loose ends.

I found a new show that I think I might be able to get into last night...it's called Eastwick and it's on ABC. We'll see, I'm trying to see the previous episodes (of which there only appears to be one) to see what all I've missed, because it looks like one of those shows that you really have to see every episode to understand. I'll report back when I get to see the two full episodes....or maybe I'll wait until after next week, so that I can see what the heck is really going on.

Other than that, Sewing with Nancy talked about making unlined/un-faced(?) jackets yesterday (*blech* jackets need to be lined and have facings!), and America's Test Kitchens was a rerun....however, I'm finding that I like the show Primal Grill--he has some awesome sounding recipes, but they all have such expensive ingredients!!

I've pretty much quit watching everything else on TV--just nothing that interests me. I liked NCIS, but the new version of it isn't that good, IMO, and the old version is on too early--cuts into the time I spend with my family.

Well, all good things must come to an end. Monk finally ended. I thought they did a really classy job of ending the show.

I guess I'll need to "get" a new show. Someone said that The Mentalist was good. I haven't seen it, though.

Any shows in January that look good?
