Yes .... I had that in mind.
We'll start cooking it early morning Saturday for Saturday evening dinner.
I wonder if Alton Brown did briskit on one of his Good Eats programs.
We have gotten great advise from his shows. | | Distinguished Member with 27,872 posts. | | Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: uk Experience: Chocoholic |

Your pork loin sounds great. My fife does that really well too. | I'm the same with the rice. Most of the time, it's plain white rice and I love it with any kind of meat, fish or poultry. But my favourite these days is cooking a chicken leg in cream of mushroom soup in the oven and then pouring the sauce on the white rice. Yummmmmmmy.

We make a bed of cooked white rice in a casserole dish, toss in a couple chicken breasts (a good way to prep these is to toss them into boiling water for a couple minutes first) cover them with cream of mushroom soup, then bake for about 30 minutes at 350. | | Community Moderator with 50,012 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2003 Location: Central USA Experience: Need no stinking badges |

Campbel's used to make a cream of onion soup that I used a lot. Can't find it anymore.
But cream of celery, adding some onion flakes, could be a sub for me. | | Distinguished Member with 27,872 posts. | | Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: uk Experience: Chocoholic |

But I could substitute the cream of onion or cream of celery as well. Any cream soup will do.
Onion flakes is a good idea, but you might want to try those dried onions that people use in their green bean caseroles. Just pour the cream soup on top of them, and rasie the temp 25 degrees. | | Administrator with 63,382 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: Quebec, Canada |

#56 | I agree about the mushroom soup. I'm not particularly fond of mushrooms either (like them better raw though) or having a bowl of the soup but it seems to mellow out in the cooking process and doesn't taste like mushrooms.
Mike, our ideas are pretty much the same and both delish.
