I had worse hard water where I used to live the pass 18 years but it was good well water and not the treated junky city water I have now that I filter out to get it to taste better.

I got the Brita pitcher now. But I don't think it is as good as it should be.

I think I will get the Berkey Water Purification System.
They come with the Black Berkey Water Purification Element and a Berkey PF-2 Fluoride and Arsenic Reduction Elements
You can clean and reuse the black filter and the white filter last a long time still but you got to replace. I want to stop or cut way back on the Fluoride and Arsenic Reduction Elements. Your see lots at youtube on this also and

http://www.911water.com/SearchResults.asp?mfg=Berkey
http://www.berkeyfilters.com/

Cost more to get started but cost a whole lots less to use and Per Gallon.
http://www.berkeyfilters.com/waterfiltercomparison.htm

I think the life of the filter is longer or more gallons in the bigger units is because there are more filters in them. I can understand a unit with 1 filter costing 4 times more then a unit with 4 filters in it. More filters the faster it filters the water.
Just me so I do not need a bigger one. Plus I can take the water in put it into a pitcher and put in the Refrigerator. Then I got at Kmart the big Ice Tea Jug or water jug but they sell it I think for making Sun Tea and it has the top so I guess a big Jar is a better name and it has the Spigot at the bottom. I keep it at the end of the counter and use it for water that does not need to be cold like for cooking etc. I use the cold water for coffee.

Thank you so much ucurl foe my coffee fix. Boy that works fast.
