Hi Lex,
There seems to have been a short that caused the picture to go, then after switching off & on again the picture has a yellow tinge, the repair man thinks it's the picture tube, but not worth repairing as it wouldn't be much more for a new one,

will have to wait 'til Hubby is on his feet again before looking for a new one.

Thanks for the tea Harry,

Or a trip to Sam's Club - 42" for $600 - a great deal (who's the Manufacturer)

I'll have a coffee with that.

Hi all,

How is everyone?... hope the weather is nice where you are, it's raining, windy and miserable here ...

Yvonne, how is hubby?... Hopefully he is feeling better and you can go get your new TV set ...

Sir T, what a good buy!... although I don't watch TV, I agree with ucurl... we should all go and visit you!...

Yvonne, Harry, Frank, Lex, Robbie... do you want to join us?... I'll bring chocolate for everyone!

Okay, some news from me now..... Drum roll please.......
Keeping up with my forum name... I did something today...

I added 4 GB of memory to my computer this morning!!!...

I inherited it from my youngest daughter... it was going in the trash after she got a divorce. It's about nine years old and wouldn't connect to the internet...
I got rid of a million games her ex husband had installed in it, plus all the virus and malware that came with them ... installed a new internal modem for the dial-up connection, and made it work!.

I've been using it for a while, but it was very slow.
I finally got the money saved to buy more memory...
The package arrived this morning, and less then fifteen minutes later I had installed the modules and had it up and running ...

Too bad I can't add a card to watch videos to it... but I can live without that...

See you later

Hi Susan,

Hubby is still in bed for another week or so, he's recovering from a fractured vertebrae, but feeling a lot better than he was.

Aren't you a clever little grannie,
cleaning up the clutter in the PC & installing a new modem, hope you have loads of enjoyment out of it.

Hope you all have a great weekend, warm & windy here today.

Morning All - I need a LARGE BUCKET 'O Caffee to get this weekend going...

I'm beat. Just spent the last week (and late nights) setting up a client's office with a new server and 12 new computers (transfering data and emails using MS Small Business Server 2008 (new). What an education.
I'm ready to flop on a big comfy couch and VEG!!

GG - We're going to call you "Techno Grannie" from now on.
YM - Hope our Hubby's feeling better - what happend?!?
SIR - What do you watch - Sports or movies?
Hewee - missing in action?
Franca - cooled down yet after the summer heat? My family just got back from Port Q and felt it first hand.

I'm sending him lots of healing energies... ~I am a Reiki and Seichim Master~... hope it will help him.
I know exactly what he is going through... I fell down an icy staircase in 1992, an have ten herniated vertebrae and could barely walk with two canes for more than eighteen months... Very long story for another day...

The modem was no problem once I realized the old one wasn't working... I installed that last October and never had a problem... I've been dying to add more memory to it... Now that it's done, I wish I had high speed internet instead of my slow dial-up...

It really is moving faster than me today with the new 4 GB of memory... wish I could install that inside my head, that way I could remember where I put my brain...

How is that new TV working?

I like that!...

I've always enjoyed fixing and making things work...
When I was about eight or nine years old (1957-58 I think),I helped my father build the engine for our first family car, a Pontiac ~with wooden sides~ anyone old enough to remember those?... from scratch!... ermm... he built and I got full of grease!...

The name Geeky Grannie came from my oldest granddaughter... I taught myself to use a computer and she thought that was so cool!...
