On the last day of our anti-poverty Walk we stppped at somewhere called 'The Point' in Cardif - Years later Hippie Rock band Hawkwind do a Concert there with some crap called 'Uncle Rotter!" So wat's going on there then Mr Brock?

Are Media People any good? Well, I had to move out of our Family Home because of one of them. If I didn't i'd have fought him - and NO I won't retract that! That was the ominously dated January 1st 1984 too! Yeah - I'm seeing Jason and his Merry Men on TV every Week in 84-86 - even David Balfour and Alan Breck Stuart in the Televisual Highlands - but it's not as if I'm on the Set with them making Tea or Coffee - or being an TV Extra for £50 a Day. By then I'm turning into Paul Weller from "Going underground" - and my Head is about to explode - because there's nothing happening here - for all the Hype - even then. (and when was the last Time he listened to any of his earlier Records?) if he did he'd be shocked to think that there are some - now 40 Somethings - whose lives haven't moved on very much since the early 80s.

How about other things? I'm in Swansea working for Human Rights - after all I helped 'make it happen' with a Project 15 Years earlier and what do I meet? Another of these 'Lookalilikes' - a Hippie selling the Big Issue - in SwanSEA, What is the Big Issue? A Magazine! What do you find in the Sea? Fish! What does Gollum specialise in doing in Peter Jacksons Film? Sneak around catching Fish! See - the Yippieocracy strikes again!

I'm not sure People need tht kind of Support.

So - because everything that Industry touches turns to Crud it seems maybe more of the Felowship and the Work they do - and less of the Media - might make the Difference that the Yippieocracy - as rotten s anything the Orcs clad themselves in or some sneery Bloke from the late 1970s - obviously can't!

As for our Project? We'd spent the late 80s seeing Reports about People disappearing in the Lebanon and no-one seemed to be doing anything about it. The Kidnappings were very ambiguous - with no Ransom Demands, no Demands to release any Jihaddists from Gaol - nothing - just People who would disappear for no apparent Reason. Some People decide to do something - and we do - and I write the Press and Publicity Pack for it. At this Stage it is just so much Gold - yet to be forged into anything. Neutral even! Then we get the Songs coming in and an Album is compliled - so that Gold has become a Ring - but just a Ring - still neutral - then it becomes a Career Structure - an object of Desire - a Battleground where everyone wants a Piece of the Action for whatever dubious Motive. This was when it gets the Inscription on it in the Blsck Speech and when the Smeagols covet it - and like Moria - the Goblins over-run it. Suddenly the whole thing starts getting turned on its Head and the Fellowship begins to dissipate.

So Lord Elrond here - who remembers that 'Council of..............' sees the same thing happening with it all as happened in Mount Doom when Isildur almost did away with everything Sauron represented - how he corrupts everything - as our Project almost did away with the Sauron Effect of before.......................but only almost! Suddenly everyone starts becoming Gollum as they want it for theeemmm - like Morgoth wanted all of Middle Eath for him in the 1st Age. I've heard the Remixes (Belfast Child and the Korgis Song), the Re-recordings by No Doubt and Beck - but while all this is going on it's like Grima FM telling me that everything is fine and it's all going to happen etc - but I'm turning into Theoden and Balin - as Rohan and Moria are over-run by Orcs - and get treated like Eomer does if I ask any Questions about it. Also, like Eomer - I've had to see those Grimas get bought one by one by the same Process. Then - considering how this is done in an Industry my Ancestor worked in I begin to feel like Aragorn does about his Lineage - as he is all too aware of what happened in Isildurs time - and is very sceptical of it all - while, like Gandalf and Galadriel, I also realise what it would do to and via me!

Which is why I want none of it and would rather be doing what the Fellowship was doing in the same Year as as many Years old Aragorn was (87).

What about Hippies and Drug use? What is Heroin if it isn't the Band of Gold becoming 'Golden Brown' - and what is Heroin if it isn't the ultimate Grima? it quite literally makes you look like Theoden doesn't it! What was the 90s if it wasn't when Drug use became almost compulsory. Sorry scary but you're a bad Joke!

So - like Aragorn - I have many Reasons to be sceptical of anything my Ancestor worked in because they're all Hippies past and present - and Showbiz is saturated in it! The difference is that unlike the Shards of Narsil Scene in Rivendell there's no Lady Arwen reassuring me that it isn't like that!

Yeah we had Geldof and Ures Solicitors and Accountants with our Project but it's not as if I go to their offices in london every once in a while - rather like i've never seen U2 for all Bonos posturing about anti-poverty or Human Rights.. On the Subject of the whole 'Lord of the Rings' franchise I've heard that Christopher Tolkien is trying to get New Line Cinema to honour an Agreement that his Father established where an amount of Revenues from all Receipts of Books, Merchandise, Films, Box Office and anything else Middle Earth goes to fund the Charitable Work of the Tolkien Foundation. I hope he does because the Monies run into the Millions and it would be lovely to see such beautiful stories not only entertain and enchant like they have for Decades but also do some considerable Work to helping some very disadvantaged People.

And I'd say to Tolkien Junior that this Junior has been through exactly the same thing with the Industry................................and that Project. The Creative Economy acting like Morgoth - or even Gollum! At least when those Stories were just Books the Agreements were honoured and the Tolkien Foundation got their Funding. (New Line have something like 130 Million of the Foundations agreed Moneys apparently!)

Bit like when a Human Rights Project is still just a Project and not a Rock and Roll Album the Ethos of it remains intact! I haven't seen anyone from the IHR Second Age in Years - despite all the Corporate Hype - while the very Reason for its existence has disappeared in the Melee of Yuppie Nose Powderers and Careerism!

On the Subject of Liverpool Melanie C and Colleagues made 40 Million each in the 5 Years they traded as the Spice Girls - how long would Owen Owen have to Work to make that sort of Money? Concurrently they provided Employment for considerably more People than any Rock or Pop Group could - and not just in Liverpool either - while also making Quality of Life accessible to a wider range of People with its good Value Policy!

Oh - and if this Concept Town is so brilliant even IT's most famous Person doesn't live here! He's like the Architect and Town Planner that doesn't live in the Council Estates and Tower Blocks they designed in the 1950s! They're Goblins!!!!

As for certain 'Ideas' of recent Years - I resist those implacably - because I know what they would do to me - and what would happen afterwards to our Culture if I didn't!

40 Million x 5 = 200 Million in just a few Years, and that's just what the Group made. The Record Companies are always rather coy about their Income from a Band, but with that sort of Money in the Industry it'd be very difficult indeed for any Isildur to resist its Temptations! The other thing about all this is how ineffectual it is anyway when it becomes trendy. Those Films were made and shown a few Years ago now - but while Tolkiens Son tries to remind New Line about its Commitment to Charity I have to ask what has happened with our anti-poverty Campaign once any Monies started appearing from any public Funding! It's like they've forgotten why we did it - or even what the Fellowship was trying to achieve in the 1980s - as those usual suspect Yippieocrats get the Funding and nothing improves for some who were involved.

When 'Senior' defeats or resists the Man with the Golden Gun - so the Golden Hall remains a Grima free Zone and Theoden looks like Bernard Hill ought to look at that Age - Theodred lives -and Eomer doesn't become an Exile!

So while Tolkien Junior struggles to retain the Integrity of Middle Earth and the Tolkien Foundation in his Battels with the Creative Economy, this Junior has the same Scepticism of whatever his Senior might have been Aragorn does of Isildur - while struggling to retain a similar Integrity concerning something involving the Middle East - and Lebanon. While resisting the continuing Attempts by Sauron to ensnare and corrupt.

And while all this goes on a Film is made earlier this Year featuring Viggo Mortensen, Karl Urban and John Rhys Davies called "Reclaiming the Blade"

The Firstborn of Harlingdon - the Men of Harlech - begin their March, and the Dunedain - the Descendants of Europes Numenorians I suppose who eventually Peopled the Northern Realms - do what they can to retain whatever might have been good about the First and Second Ages - through the Third and into the Fourth!

For Years i've seen the effects of their Uruk Culture in the real World - and what it has done to our Society and our People. I'm not hiding behing those Black Gates where Uruks interact with Uruks, Orcs with Orcs - and no-one else - so my Opinion on it all isn't as distorted as theirs. What is dangerous about this is how that - like the Wraiths - Gallop out of Minas Morgul - with that indulged, rotted One Ring, one sided, one dimensional veiw of the World - as theirs became - and they expect all of us to live to it.

While those same Wraiths attacked a few Hobbiton's, Bree's and elsewhere - doing the proverbial Knife in the Dark thing - with People I knew and loved. Now they're as Wraithlike too as they had more Contact with them than with Elrond.

I did an Anti-Poverty Campaign - some of it with a Couple of Youngsters called Frodo and Bilbo, we see an Area of Forestry that looked like that bit of Fangorn after Sarumans Orcs went to it with the Chainsaw, I'm born on October the 25th - the same day as the Council of Elrond - and our Project represented People who disappeared in a Middle Eastern Country with the same Name as a Province of Middle Earth. Before all of that I'm in something called the Drake Fellowship - doing what you Guys do in the Films - because I'd been unemployed for a long time. The same thing always happens though and everything - not just the Momentum from the Fellowship or the Integrity of the Human Rights Campaign and even the Fact that Poverty isn't just about not having very much Money - disappears - including the People.

Sauron stage manages it all - Saruman engineers it - and Grima FM tells me not to make a fuss.

And - rather like you and Pippin - when i'm in the Forest (at the Suggestion of Cyclist People you might call 'Hippies') - no-one I need to see is ever there - it's always the bloody same!
