A REAL browser in only 11K!!!
Babya discoverer browser is only an 11K download. It is fast, & it works good. It is, however, minimalist.

Yes, it is 11K -- NOT 11mb!

This is bogus. It's just a VB skin of IE... any beginner can make one in ten minutes...

Give me a break.. there's no such thing...

Yea it doesn't seem to be a real browser, I dont think it will work if you dont have IE installed.

To test I am doing stuff in it that is only supported by IE.
If I go to an Active Channel in Babya it launches IE, whereas netscape would check the MIME type and ask you what to do with it.

Next I will test VBScript.
Yup the VBS worked I think its just IE in a mask. Kind of like NeoPlanet.

Yes, so I have since learned. [blush blush]

So I guess the smallest true browser with NO dependancies remains OffByOne. It's only a 450K zipped DL.

As above
Has anyone tried Opera? It is reputed to be better than IE6 for security & quicker.

Yea but opera is a full blown alternate browser not a floppy-disk fitter.

Correct, as far as I can see, Opera is getting a little big in terms of size and resources and stuff....

Mozilla, which had also had the same problem admitted it and is now going down another roadmap with the leaner Firebird browser... can't wait

At sillydog.com several users/developers have created their own custom versoins of Mozilla/Netscape that are slimmed down.

Its kinda ridiculous though. Mozilla gets sued because theres a database with the same name. They change to firebird. Get sued again because theres another program with that name, etc.

Try the offbyone webbrowser, it only takes about 1mb and it is its own standalone browser, It is VERY fast on older computers which is really the only reason to put it on is if you have an old computer. DIscover runs more slowly on older PCs.

Cheers
