Thumbs down MicroPro Laptop
My experience with MicroPro was not very good. I ordered a laptop at the beginning of May. It took almost 3 weeks for the machine to arrive. When it did arrive I found out that it did not come with a battery. The battery is extra and is external (The computer is also rather heavy). As portability is not a primary issue with me, those things are not really important - they might be important to you. RELIABILITY IS IMPORTANT to me, however. The computer worked well for less than 2 weeks and started having booting problems.
MicroPro was unresponsive to the e-mails that I sent. I finally got someone by telephone and got a RMS code to send the machine back. This was June 11. I sent the machine back, UPS, at my own expense (another $17 after spending more than $1000 on the computer) on June 12 and according to UPS it got there on June 19. It is now July and I have heard nothing from MicroPro. I have called, reached customer service - after a long wait on hold - and have been transferred to the service department. After another long wait on hold (more than 20 minutes) an answering machine picked up and I left a message for them to call me back. They still have not done so. They have offered nothing in the way of compensation for my trouble.
If it is not too late, I would go with a different company. If you have already ordered your laptop from MicroPro, I wish you better luck than I have had with them.
