Smile Open Source
Have Uncle Bill and Aunty Steve realised that there are a host of Freeware and Open Source programmes out there in cyberspace, that can be utilised, commercially and since they are open source, a global network of user and techies will add value and improve them, free of charge??

Interesting to me (as CEO and Founder of a software house. focused on offering true value, real "User Friendly" front-ends and simplicity, rather than bloatware, that assembling a compilation of Freeware (with the agreement of the authors of course and due accreditation) as a bundle offers real commercial opportunity. So, OK, I don't really want to be a multi-billionaire. Perhaps I'm dumb. Honest profit for honest endeavour is my byword.

Also, increasing numbers of States are insisting that applications are open source, since they have a duty to ensure that future citizens can easily access the government's records on them!

Thus they are denying the roll-out of MS products such as XP and .Net. Wonder why............................

Your holistic views more than welcome.................

Many thanks, Dreamboat.

I wasn't too sure about where to actually post it, I admit.

An important topic for discussion for all of us thought, which I suddenly realised needed to be aired.

Nice weekend all.

I am all for open sourse, as far as Office XP, that's what I use. Companies have the right to do what they want if they write the software.

Sorry, I would have replied sooner, but I didn't notice this thread
