"that" Dvd Rental Company: Be Aware!!
About that dvd rental company, the one that is everywhere you look on the internet : "Ne**lix" (name omiitted in case they advertise with Techguy).i decided to finally give them a try when i saw this trial offer:

"Net*lix Online DVD Rental: Free Trial - Get 2 Weeks of DVD Rentals Free!

i gave my credit card number online as they said it will not be processed til the end of the trial.

Would you like to guess what happen BEFORE the "2 weeks"?? yes,my credit card was processed as i received this email message: "You received a 10 day free trial" and "The regular price of the 3 out monthly program is $19.95 (plus applicable tax)"
....processed"

SUMMARY: i was led to believe i had a 2 week trial period, but my credit card was processed in 10 days so now i have paid.

consider using a credit card online is still getting a bad reputation by this insidious, dishonesty.

Don't pay them and report them to your credit card and get your money back.

Also look here for help.

just wanted to follow up: beware this company: "Nex*lix" dvd rentals.

to reiterate: i took them up on a 2 week free trial which required my credit card number to be kept on file. 10 days into the 2 week free trial,my credit card was processed. this is plain dishonest company practices, who knows what else they are capable of.

i have considered just calling it a loss. i did not even use the whole month's worth of time!

dam shame for them,i was edging on doing business with them throughout the winter months. dont be surprise when they file for bankruptcy as now i will go to thier competition(walmart).

Don't take a loss because you have a right to get your money back from your credit card company.

they(ne*flix) are really bad. although my credit card was debited to them, they have emailed me saying they have not billed me. what does this paste of my card statement say

( Transaction: NFI*NE*FLIX.COM **** CA -$21.95 )

and because i cancelled my membership, they plan on charging me $20 for each outstanding disk. i rented/returned 5 dvds during a 2 week trial period and i have unknowingly paid for one month which would end about oc.t16.

here's a chonological order of a 2 week free trial offer:

day 1: online,i take the 2 week free trial offer and order 3 dvds
day 6-8: i receive and return the dvds, order 2 more dvds
day 8: my credit card GETS processed for one month
day 11nline,i cancell my membership
day 12:i receive 1 out 2 orderd dvds,returned immediately
day 14:i recieve 2 of 2 ordered dvds,returned immediately.

today day 17: i get told: After your membership has been cancelled, we will charge your credit card $20 for each disc and you have two outstanding

ps i will just forget the $20 as it will take hours and aggravation to undo

BTW-you don't need to edit out their name. Netflix. The ads here are through a 3rd party, and even if Netflix supported TSG, you can still post an honest review of them...

nextflix just fully reimbursed my credit card account without me turning to third party intervention. perhaps nextflix reads techguy forums? the internet can be a small world sometimes.
