Pay-as-you-go Broadband !!??
Key Features

* Choice of speeds from 512Kbps to 2Mbps
* Free ADSL Firewall
* Unique cost capping
* Billing in arrears and not in advance
* Static IP address
* Multiple Usenet news servers
* Support by phone and email

* No restricted ports
* No speed throttling
* No usage caps
* Only 3 month min. contract
* Free backup 0845 dial-up account
* SMTP server access
* Custom reverse-DNS configuration

How it works in a nutshell

The best way to see how it works is by way of an example. On a PAYGo500 account, for instance, your minimum monthly cost would be £10 which would include your first 200MB of usage. Thereafter you pay just £0.0025 (Quarter of a penny) per MB till you download/upload up to 5796MB in that month, at which point the most you pay is £23.99. But if you don't download/upload 5796MB you of course pay less. It's as simple as that.

METRONET

Anyone in UK use it ?

What do you think ?

Hello Joe
Slight word of warning, prices do not include VAT and email is extra cost.
On the positive side, reading the forums on "ISP Review" the service is good.

Joe, Go here to compare providers,
http://www.adslguide.org.uk/isps/compare.asp
Metronet are very good. It beats Pipex (my provider) and I am more than happy with Pipex.
Are you going for it Joe?

I don't really know what is normal...but I would think it is more than you expect. I'm sure my use is up there; I download alot of music and movies and large updates/files are no problem with my connection so I don't worry about it. (stuff like 500+ mb)

For instance, looking at my LAN connection status, I've recieved 243,985 packets over the last 2 days 7 hours and 39 minutes. I'mn not sure what that means, but I haven't been around lately so I've had relatively very little activity over the past 2 days 7 hours and 37 minutes. That's pretty much just TSG and email.
