Microsoft update cdrom
I did a fresh install of 98 for a client and they also wished to have it fully updated so I gave the new microsoft update cd a whirl and it saved about an hour of downloading. It installed everything from internet explorer 6 to every hotfix and critical update in about 10 minutes.

I call that a success and a positive step on behalf of Microsoft in the war against driveby hijackings and vulnerabilities.

Did you buy this from MS or is it available for download in a cumulative patch or something?

My understanding is the disc is just a compilation of all updates, security and vulnerability fixes etc. that are available to download. The disk is made available for those without an internet connection or those with slow download connections.
