Hey, i found this good FREE tech support site
Greetings all, I found this site http://www.theproductivecomputer.com that offers human based tech support via email for windows xp, linux, home networking. I asked a question about windows and I got an answer back like 3 hours later and it worked. I mean forget about the corporate tech support, the site seems pretty easy to navigate, i am a convert now. There is not very much advertising and it is easy to use. Most importantly the answer worked. I did provide much detail like I suggest everyone else doing. I was impressed, I give it 5/5 and suggest you visit.

New member posting of another site seems like spamming to me.

Read the rules we have here.

notice... my question was not a little "how do i plug in my monitor". I was asking for how to set up Apache with PHP on my mandrake 10 linux machine for a personal website. I got a reply to that in 3 hours, how bout that. I doubt I could have gotten an answer to that faster then 3 hours. In a forum it would have taken at least 10 replies on what various things were, things that dont matter in this case like my graphics card. I just told the site my what i wanted to do, and they figured it out. Note: it was said that this was a review forum and what was I doing, i was reviewing a site. Now I leave. God Bless

The site you've recommended looks too simple
I couldn't fine there email address and they only refer you to certain places. I don't think it is that helpful.

You wont find anyone there like the members we have here. Everyone is deticated to helping out to there best abilty, and wont stop giving people advice until there problems solved. Would you rather bring your computer to a repair shop and pay loads of money, to find out it was a really simple fix? Or be patient until someone can get to you?

Won't find much of anything there.
I did a quick search of the archives, tried various forms for terms--antivirus, trojan,Linux, Win98, WinXP, Highjack this log, BSOD, error, sound card, video card, memory

I got only hits on 'Linux' , 'error' and 'games'
'error' returned two links that ended in 'The page specified could not be found...' and ' Searched 0 documents in total.'
For the term 'Linux ' I got 9 links back to Linux ditributions, 2 links that are duplicates on how to compile Linux and another link that was a review of Mandrake 10.

oh yeah, under 'games', I found a review for a laptop. But the term 'game' wasn't in the review and the authors spellchecker a bit wonky ______

Me thinks TSG was spammed.............

Here is a quote from the page.

"So how to rid yourself of spyware

Fortunaly getting rid of spyware is easy, you can remove some spyware by using the Add/Remove control panel in Window. For more sneaky spyware you will need a specialized utility."

Let this guy kill a CWS easily. I think our new member runs the page. The spelling looks awful familiar.

You make it sound so hard
Mandrake 10's control panel automatically installs and configures Apache/PHP.

well then, i see this is not a 'productive' discussion it is more a flame fest. This is what tires many about forums, all this hatred and randomness. I would like this thread to be deleted if possible and my user removed. Or does the adminstrator not take part in this site. I really dont like this site, or most forums in general, and I did receive good tech support from that site, though now theve been converting into a programming site which sucks. This was not spam, you people jump to conclusions, spammers dont care about the replies, they did help me a great deal, and whoever said you just go to Mandrake COntrol panel, i dont install the stupid control panel, i am some what a linux newbie, but still i wanted to act like i knew what i was doing. Debian didnt detect my Audigy, so i wanted to use Mandrake. i was a windowz guru, i then found out windowz didnot do it for me anymore and was like wow, linux is where it is fun to use a computer again. i like to edit by hand but i was having a problem in the link between my stupid ethernet card and the Apache server itself, i was trying to run as a test server. I was doing it wrong, the people on the other end replied very quickly and i was finished. THEY REPLIED 3 HOURS WITH AN ANSWER. That didnt make much sense, but the answer i recieved was in easy to understand english, now i would like no more replies to this forum, i may give this site poor reviews in larger forums, say gentoo and that would suck wouldnt it. peace and god bless
