The HPavillion7000 is well-rated if you check Consumers Report. You have a lot of Ram, but check rating of this one. Lucky you ...there is a 4 year warranty...get it fixed now and if more trouble arises in the near future, demand your money back. Laptops don t come cheap!

It may be well-rated but my daughter's took 4 months for them to even admit it was even under warranty, then 2 months for them to pick it up. By the time they did, the warranty had expired! All because the d@mned cd burner died.

And make sure you have ALL your files copied before sending it off! Cause you may not get the same computer back. We didn't. And she was missing all her music. Not that it bothered ME but it did her.

But that's SIX months to service a laptop???? And it took EIGHT phone calls, us faxing the paperwork FOUR times to prove the warranty cause they kept LOSING it. Get real people! That's NOT a way to run a business. Liz
