Thumbs up Relatively Unknown Anti-virus program
Hey to all you techs out there.

I have seen that a lot of you recommend AVG anti-virus to users. I tried that and TWICE it gave me "Windows Protection Errors" when the install asked me to reboot. I was too broke to go out and buy a copy of Norton or MacAfee or any other programs, and I found a free solution.

This program is called "Anti-vir" and is made by a German company. All the documentation is in English, virus definition updates are released daily, and it include many of the features found only in Anti-virus programs you have to pay for, features like: file/folder exclusion, adjustable heiuristics, and the detection and removal of non-virus but damaging programs IE: dialers.

And just to remind those of you who missed it earlier, this is FREE. No pro version with added features, all the cool stuff is included in the FREE version. No ads, no hidden things, and it even reminds you if you have not updated your virus definitions reciently.

You can obtain this product from http://www.free-av.com

DMNeoblade gives it an A+. One to throw on any computer.

Thanks for the tip. I use the Avast free version and coupled with Spyware Blaster I have never had a problem. I will check out Anti-vir.
