Belkin Pre-N information
Not too long ago I bought a Belkin Pre-N wireless router and a Pre-N PC card for my laptop. I have a Dell 700m, and at first it worked well. Then I started noticing problems.

1. The PC slot is right next to the USB connections on the laptop and I found that when I was using the PC card I had trouble with the USB devices I might also be using. After some experimenting I found that the Pre-N PC card interfered with my Pocket PC's syncing using the USB cable. If I removed the PC card I'd have no problem. The same applied for my scanner and printer.

2. Heat. The PC card generates LOTS of heat. It gets too hot to touch the laptop above the PC slot after a while. I thought I might have a defective card at first, but a second Pre-N PC card had the same problem. The heat seems to have damaged the PC card now, however. I suddenly started dropping the connection to the router yesterday. I can use a second card and still connect well, but the original PC card only connects for minutes at a time now.

I like the router and have had no problems with it, but be aware of the possible problems with the PC card.
