(PRWEB) - London, UK (PRWEB) August 1, 2005 -- After months of unprecedented stealth development, Previewseek Limited announced today the official launch of its flagship search engine Previewseek.com. With some of the most advanced artificial intelligence capabilities available on the web today, and built upon over 35 proprietary and patent pending technologies, Previewseek.com promises to significantly improve the way people search, buy, interact, and communicate online.

Development in Total Secrecy:

Yet even more impressive than the search engine technology itself, were the truly extraordinary measures the company took to ensure total secrecy of the project -- even from its own programmers and developers. The development of the cutting-edge Previewseek.com search engine represented one of the technology world's most closely guarded secrets in recent memory, with even most of the site's 26 core programmers, designers, and engineers kept completely in the dark about the overall vision of the project.

"We had to take these extraordinary measures because we knew that we were creating one of the most advanced products, in the most competitive industry in the world … Internet search," said C. "Christopher" Hong, the London-based Chairman of Previewseek Limited.

"Using code words and strongly encrypted communications, we meticulously parsed out the development of this search engine to geographically dispersed and completely autonomous teams from such far away places as China, New Zealand, Australia, Estonia, and the Ukraine, in addition to the UK and the US," Hong added. "We needed to make 100% certain that even if information about one part of the project leaked out, no one would be able to piece together the revolutionary nature of the technologies and services that we were creating."

To Create Cutting Edge Technologies:

The Previewseek search engine uses a number of proprietary artificial intelligence and collaborative filtering algorithms to help people find exactly what they are looking for quickly, easily and efficiently. More specifically, Previewseek:

- Automatically "understands" the meanings of words: Thanks to its proprietary SenseGate© technology, Previewseek leverages the collective knowledge embedded in select web databases to automatically "understand" the meaning of words, thereby helping users quickly distinguish between java the island, java the programming language, or java the coffee.

- Automatically distinguishes between unbiased and commercial content: Thanks to its unique DiscoveryBase© technology, Previewseek also automatically identifies and integrates completely unbiased and insightful information about the most important search terms.

- Automatically generates visual "previews" of search result pages: Furthermore, Previewseek's advanced visualization capabilities also allows users to see the web pages before actually visiting them, thereby saving needless time and frustration.

A small number of exclusive beta testers around the world have already tried out the Previewseek service, and their response has been virtually unanimous. James McFadden, a beta tester from the U.S. raved, "This is vastly superior to any search engine I have ever used. I found all the information I was looking for in 50% less time than using other sources." Likewise, Angela Chan, a tester from Hong Kong stated, "The functionalities of this engine are impressive. I can search in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese or English and the results are exactly what I need."

While these beta testers (and soon, millions of users) may never know about the intense level of secrecy or the intricately complex technology that went into developing this site, Hong says that this was exactly the result the company wants to achieve. "We want to make Internet search not only as powerful as possible, but also, as simple as possible. For the end user, it should just be a terrific online experience."

The Previewseek.com site is available online to the general public at http://www.previewseek.com .

About Previewseek Limited:

Headquartered in London, UK with a presence in the US and Hong Kong, Previewseek Limited is a privately held company that provides the most advanced Internet search engine available on the web today. Previewseek Limited was founded by leading entrepreneurs with both a strong demonstrated track record of success and a true personal passion for Internet search. Previewseek's public site can be accessed at http://www.previewseek.com from August 1st 2005.
So far, after a couple days of playing, seems interesting - I kinda like the layout of the results. Does seem just as fast as google, a9, yahoo, etc.
