I downloaded & installed a program called AntiCrash several days ago. Got it from...

http://www.dachshundsoftware.com/

So far it's been great. It not only stopped a crash in my web editing program, but it undertook to repair the cause of this recurring problem. It worked!

It's easy/intuitive to configure, and doesn't seem to slow the computer down at all.

The download is only ~650K (I forget the exact amt).

It's a "free" download but the program will bug you again & again until you register/pay for it. It's $25 to register but... today I paid the freight. Any time I shell out 25 bucks, you know I'm really sold.

I recommend you give the free download a try. I think you'll like it. If not, DUMP it after a day or so; or else the reminders and elbow jabs administered by this program will drive you nutz!

Aloha from Hawaii,
Bellgamin

Arrow It will be good to know....................
If this program works as well for others as you say it does for you , given the problems and often lack of effectiveness of some of the other crashguard programs.
Bob
BTW: what do you do with all the mufflers??

bd - I know what you mean. Norton's CrashGuard had one major problem... it couldn't stop ITSELF from crashing.

AntiCrash is far from perfect. Never said it was. It's just the best I've found so far, & I have tried a bunch of them.

The best thing about AntiCrash is that their TechSpt folks are very responsive. They will even react (so they say) to a specific problem on your specific computer.
