I am looking for some opinions on antivirus programs. I have been using AVG free edition for some time and haven't had any problems but I just got a new ISP and they offer the full version of Mcafee antivirus included with my ISP subscription. So I am wondering if it is worth it to change over or just stick with AVG free? Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

I will agree also, but if you ever want to buy one, buy NOD32. I've heard and read it's the best.

Stay VERY far away from McJunky. Had it, junked it, went with AVG, no problems.

My kids use AVG and love it. It is accurate, easy to configure and of course, best of all free. I have tried several paid and free AV's, loved NOD32, hated Symantec as a resource hog and (on my machine) prone to instability and problems with updating and problematic to remove. I am currently using Zone Alarm Security Suite and am very happy thus far with using it. It again is easy to customise and seems to have very few hiccyps so far.

Had norton, its installed everywhere even after uninstilation and I wanted to remove it becuase it was suggested to be removed as its slow and ineffective. AVG is free and ive found it to be easy and effective (apart from manual updates). But if your ISP is offering an extra anti-virus product, you can either decide to make it another anti-virus product for your system (becuase no anti-virus product can detect 'all' viruses, but more than one helps full that gap), which is commonly a bad choice as it takes up computer resources and creates conflict, or you could choose one of the two (which is kinda what your talking about).
