Lightscribe
Hi, just wondering what you all think of something called "Lightscribe". I was wondering if anyone has uses it at all. I have a drive at home and sometimes I think its more convienent to label a disc with a sharpie after labeling it. Rather than taking a lightscribe disc and burning an image or text on it. Sometimes text is good but sometimes I don't have enough time to wait. I was wondering if anyone uses it right after they burn something like a music CD or uses a sharpie instead. Kinda interested in what everyone else has to say so if anyone could reply that'd be great.

I have one.You have to buy differnt disks for it to work.It has to have the right kind of label on the disk for it to work. Its simple to use.I like it though I only used it once.I saving my lightscribe disks for when I burn a really good dosk as they cost more $$$.regular disks cost $.

I have been using this software/hardware for three years now. Make a 'master' then copy all of your second-hand copies from this and you'll be good to go. Also - since I run a legit PC Repair shop, I do get the latest in software up-grades. The HP Light scribe Label Maker™ has a fresh new appearance that you will want and need.

So do you all like the contrast that you get from it (the picture quality)? I've also heard about some new color background discs that will be coming out soon, I dunno if I might get them or not but anyone think it might be a good investment?. Oh, a nifty place to get better images if you haven't already is www.lightscribe.com. First get the Lightscribe System Software and then you download the Extended Contrast Labeling Utility. It uses more time to burn an image when you enable this option but the images are alot darker (especially images with alot of black or dark areas).

Still looking for more thoughts on "Lightscribe" so if anyone wants to chime in, go for it!

I DL'ed the label maker (4 Sure thing) from lightscribe.com but when I open it I cant find anything that tells it to burn a lightscribe dvd. It only wants to point to the printer.

my burner is supposed to be a LS Burner (LG)

I WAS DUPED! HOODWINKED! SCAMED!

My burner was SUPPOSED to have Lightscribe but it DIDENT! I dident realise it had to SAY Lightscribe on it but never had the opportunity to try it out cause I just only burned my first dvd using the new software.

GOOD NEWS.. the store swapped it out for me and Ive already burned my first DVD label!

SOLVED!
