Question Which laptop?
I am currently a studet in high school. I'm planning on buying a new laptop soon. Right now I have the dv8000 and it's too big for me. I'm not sure which laptop to buy. Can you guys help me out? I was thinking about getting a macbook but its too proprietary for me (you have to buy the WinOS). Also it doesnt have that many interfaces and its dvd burner is only 4x. Way to slow for me. But the design is the superior. So here are my requirements:
Purpose: Macromedia Studio 2004 MX, Adobe Creative Suite 9.0, listening to music watching movies and organizing pictures. Nothing 3D really. "Maybe" some gaming but I doubt it because I'm trying to drop that hobby. :\
Price: $500-$1200
OS: Mac OS X or MCE or Prof (Home is too boring, I need something for advanced networking)
Processor: AT LEAST 1GHz (core solo or pentium M?)
RAM: BARE MINIMUM 512 (preferred 1GB)
Graphics: Don't really care (Intel GMA 950 handles 2D graphics faster than a NVIDIA Go 7400)
HD: BARE MINIMUM of 60GB 5400 RPM (80 would be nice :] I have a lot of music and movies)
Optical Drive: 8X DVD+/-R/RW with dual layer (I need it :])
Networking: b/g is BARE MINIMUM (a/b/g is ok but I'd really like a/b/g with BT if I can get it at that price)
Battery: At least 2hrs. Nothing less
