MS Wireless/Optical Mouse Opinion
I am considering the purchase of a Microsoft Wireless/Optical Mouse and would like your opinion as to its reliability due to its wireless connection. Thanks.

Hi Paul ,
IMy daughter uses the same mouse and she loves it. Batteries seem to last quite a while. I would say the battery issue is only question. But is that really a problem? Thinking of getting one my self.(If I can talk my wife into it).

Thanks for the info TW56. The battery life is not an issue to me as i have learned to keep many on hand for all the remotes and other devices. I am just curious if the radio part is subject to interference and any loss of signal causing jerky movement or other problems. I cant find any info on the radio frequency it operates on and being close to a medium size airport, i am interested if aircraft or other radio signals near here may interfer with its use. I also wonder about portable telephones on the 900 mhz and 2.1 ghz bands causing trouble.

I live close to an airport. My wife had one, never seemed to be a problem with any kind of interference. Although she changed to a microsoft mouse now. The mouse seemed heavy when moving it. Those batteries add some weight. I would guess it was almost twice as heavy as my intellimouse explorer.

Hi again Paul,
Come to think of it when we went to D.C. to visit her it did seem a little heavy as brianF indicated, but it didnt feel as heavy when I used it for a while. I also have an intellimouse explorer. I love it!!
Love the no ball pain in the butt!

Very Interesting-i never considered the weight difference with the batteries. The info on radio interference answers my major concern though. Thanks brianF.

paul........i drive an ms. opti/cordless mouse, the best thing ever......i never thought about the weight issue so that shows its no problem and as for interference......there isnt any at all.
and i find re-chargeable batteries are the best thing for it.
