Network Layer 1 price that you would Pay?
Hi all,

I am trying to see what pricing would be good for things like Cat 3 cable, jacks, Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6 cables and jacks and other such accessories.

First off, I'd like to know what you'all are paying for such stuff and wondering if the pricing for example, for a CAT 6 jack that I saw on Tom's Hardware for $8 + is normal.

To me, that seems steep, but want to know your opines!!!

Thanks.

For CAT-5 or 6, about $3 for five feet.

Last I checked, on Newegg you can pay $13 for a 100 foot strand of Cat5, RJ45 connectors and all.

I found the following at the link provided by n2gun.

http://www.cablewholesale.com/specs/326-120iv.htm

$3.44 for a network (cat 6) jack.

Do you get bulk pricing as I am looking at bidding a location with over 40 CAT 6 drops and wondering how any of you go about getting a good price from suppliers.

And, yes, for the Patch cords a dollar a foot looks like the norm!

thanks...
