Solved: All in One Printer
Is this where I can ask about getting reviews for a printer? I've searched other sites for reviews, but I don't *know* them like I *know* ya'll. I am tired of hocking all of my sparklies in order to buy ink for my printer. I don't do a lot of printing, but I do like to make cards, print my daily crossword, make invitations, little piddly stuff like that. Anyway, is this the correct forum to solicit opinions?

im using an HP 1317 all in one printer and its never broken on me yet and ive used it almost every day for the past 4 - 5 years i only have to change the ink every few months and it prints, scans and copies, all to a good quality i also use a cannon printer which is excellent, again all in one
cannon and HP get my votes

Thanks, JB! I have a wonderful printer -- even though its old as Me......uhmmmm......Methusalah (that's the southern pronounciation). And it still works okay its just that the dadgum cartridges are expensive as all get out. Its a Lexmark all in one. I was looking at the Kodak Easyshare 5100 -- haven't seen/heard too many things about it yet. Just wondering what the kind folks here thought about that one?

ah, that would explain your problem lexmarks drink ink like an alcoholic drinks moonshine. get an HP the ink isnt that expensive, and it lasts for ages
also did you know, that printer ink is, weight for weight, the most expensive solution on earth not surprising really. (or at least it was a year or so ago, not sure now though)

Even though I hate HP's software ... (I don't have to use HP's bloated/problematic software)
I think I'd try one of these ...

Then I'd get the basic driver DL (34MB) ... at ...

Then, I'd use Irfanview to do all my Scanning and Basic Image work ... replacing HP's bloated software ..

Last week, I had a tour of a local cartridge world shop .. I was sorta impressed, But their refill cost was a little high.

Why then, this lil ol' Lexmark is right at home in my house-----NOT that I drink moonshine, but I do enjoy a libation every once in a while.

Ok, well. I looked at the printer through your link. What a cute printer!!! And I probably scan about once every other week ... maybe. As I stated earlier I use the printer to just piddle around with *cute* stuff.

I'm gonna' take a look at that HP printer. Thanks you two !! By the way, I got the external hard drive and posted a "now what" question in one of the other areas here. I think its under Hardware section.
