What are good laptops?
I have always delt with desktops but I will hopefully be getting my first laptop later this year and their are sooo many brands to chose from I don't want to make a mistake. I don't need anything fancy, I want a 100+HD, a dvd durner, wireless able, card reader, and I think I want to stay with XP. I am not wanting to do anything fancy with this machine so it does not have to be suped up...can anyone recogmend anything? Is there anything to stay away from?

you may find it difficult to stay with XP - most have vista preinstalled and some devices dont have XP drivers

I think you will find all laptops have the + or - views
I have purchased
HP/Compaq - same company
Toshiba
Fujitsu-semens
Acer

all very good deals at the time from
Comet, PCworld, Staples, johnlewis

I just look for a good deal

not had a problem with any of them 1st purchased two years ago to 9mths ago for friends and family
