I have always delt with desktops but I will hopefully be getting my first laptop later this year and their are sooo many brands to chose from I don't want to make a mistake. I don't need anything fancy, I want a 100+HD, a dvd durner, wireless able, card reader, and I think I want to stay with XP. I am not wanting to do anything fancy with this machine so it does not have to be suped up...can anyone recogmend anything? Is there anything to stay away from?

you may find it difficult to stay with XP - most have vista preinstalled and some devices dont have XP drivers

The great part of this was I was able to customize it with XP. I love xp and I'm not saying Vista is bad, but my philosophy is if it works for you in the past don't change it
