CDProjekt
With all the complaining .... most of it justifiable .... about companies and the poor treatment they give to their customers I feel the need to point out a company that knows how to do it right. CDProjekt, the producers of the insanely popular Witcher RPG have recently demonstrated loyalty to their customers that places them in the upper echelon of game producers.

With the release of the Witcher Enhanced edition my immediate reaction was "money grab". A company is trying to capitalize on a products popularity by introducing a "new and improved" version hoping that those loyal will jump at buying it. But no .... along with the release of the enhanced DVD (containing graphics upgrades, new voice acting and major performance boosts that result in significantly improved load times) they released a patch so that anyone with a registered copy of the game could benifit from the improvements free of charge. And they didn't stop there. Part of the upgrade gave users an editor that allows the community to make their own adventure modules which increases the longevity of an already decent length game. As a further thank you CDProjekt gave us 2 premium adventure modules made by them ... yes free of charge (unlike Bethesda that chose to make us pay for every little extra we added to Oblivion) .... which added about 25 hours of gameplay for me.

All I can really say to this is Thank You, and hope other game producers follow their lead in recognizing how important fostering customer loyalty is.

oh yeah I mustn't forget to mention another small but very big thing that gamers appreciate a great deal. The same patch that gave all the added content and improvements also removed the DRM ..... yes thats right they chose to remove the DRM from the game
