I-hate-pc.com
Has anyone had any dealings with www.i-love-pc.com?

Joined up a membership with them some months ago (unbelievably cheap prices), and placed an order for over $1000 for parts. Order was processed and fees taken out of my credit card. Three weeks later after hearing nothing, I email them wondering what is going on only to be told that they had been closed over christmas/new year holidays, they apologised for the delay but would see to my order within the next couple of days. So I placed a second order with them, again near $1,000, same thing - automatic processing, money taken from my credit card.

Three weeks later, I still hadn't heard anything about the first order, so emailed them once again. Again an apology for the delay, they would get to it within the next few days - they had once again been closed for holidays (how many holidays do they get?).

A few days later, a new business opened up in town advertising that they were dealers for them. Hmm ... went in there and asked if they could find out anything that was going on with my order. Turns out they were waiting on their supplier for the parts and couldn't guarantee delivery within the next three months - but if I would like to place a third order with the new business ...

Like yeah right. Cancelled both orders, thankfully got my money back. Obtained the parts from my regular supplier (exact same parts) within 3 days.

Also had them quote me $300 for a copy of Adobe CS4 - not legitimate of course but assured me it would work.

Clearly sounds like a scam outfit, thanks for the heads-up.

It is technically illegal, and many of these outfits toss in a disk cable or some other inexpensive piece of hardware to get around it.

Microsoft rescinded that requirement in either August or September 2005.

Not surprised, I haven't purchased a stand-alone OEM copy in a long time.
