Should I buy a latitude
A guy I know through work just recently shut down an overseas business and is selling some barely use computers. He is selling a dell latitude laptop I think it is a 6400? Anyways it is a little less than a year old and has barely been used. I do know him and trust he is being upfront. I am just a college student and just use my computer for the internet and do homework and such. He is going to sell it to me for $450 if I want it. Should I buy it????

some specs he emailed me

Windows XP
14.1WXGA+, Display
Hard Drive, 80G, 9.5, 7.2K, SATA
Wireless, DW5700 Verizon Broadband Card
WiFi 802.11 B,G, Bluetooth, 56K modem
Touchpad Fingerprint Reader
Network, Port
2GB, 667, Memory
Dvd+/-rw, 8X, Sony

have a look at the dell website and see what you get for $450, I suspect it would be a higher spec, I know laptops are much cheaper in USA

well you can get the following
http://www.dell.com/us/en/home/lapto...=19&~ck=anavml

Have a look and compare specs - more memory, more harddrive, not sure about CPU
has wifi, not sure about bluetooth
it will not come with Microsoft office, that is usually extra, and you could get a student edition or use open office , not sure of the cost in USA

you will have to look and see what deals you can get for $450 new and compare with the machine spec he is selling

CPU Speed
Memory
Harddrive
to start with
Most come with Wifi, lanport, and DVD writer now
Bluetooth may not be on the machines

Someone form the US needs to help you really - who know the market, and the places to look for deals online , i'm sure they will reply

Sounds like he is including price of Office. Make sure you get the original disc if you go for the offer.

I don't know where you live, but here where I am, Office professional is more than $450.

You are a student? Deals on MS office now for students.

I can't tell you what to buy without seeing it.

Might be worth getting if you want XP without hassle as well(should have all drivers installed and working already).

Lots of sales on now. You will have a warranty with new.

Edit: I am partial to HP.

Why not a Lenovo? They are still excellent laptops in my opinion...

Ditto.

That is why I said to make sure and get original disc. Do not accept a copy.
