Interesting read, thanks.

I was surprised on vacation to Disney when having bought some pay-as-you-go cell phones for the family group to keep in touch that one pays for incoming calls in the USA as well as outgoing calls. In the UK one only pays for outgoing calls - unless called from abroad. Only 25 cents or so but something to be aware of.

Yeah, if you can afford the cost of electricity, i.e. keeping your computer up/24x7 for a yearly sum of $300. Not a good solution for most folks whom would now probably want to save that for food or some other necessity like a visit to the doctor in these recessionary times.

I like my solution, I doubt that little Linksys VoIP box takes that much power. I have to keep the router running anyway, it provides my TV Guide and On-Demand functionality for the TV service.
