Fast computer that can take some wear and tear from teenagers
These are my laptop requirements. Any suggestions? Thanks!

1) What is your budget?

2) What size notebook would you prefer?

14"-16"

3) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.

US

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

Nope

5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistrubited?

Redistributed

6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

Microsoft Word
AIM
Internet Browsing
Minimal picture/video editing


7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?

Both

8) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games or types of games?

No

9) How many hours of battery life do you need?

Not a big concern.

10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?

Would be nice, but not needed.

At least a DVD Burner but Blu-Ray would be nice.

well that need (except blueray ) should be meet by the most basic laptop
But you mention teenages ........did you include that requirement

I'm not in US - so I'll wait for someone else to reply - but you can get some pretty good deals with that spec.....

I suspect you will even get blueray .....
