Talking Gateway
My friends computer has crashed and she is getting tired of putting money into it. She is looking at purchasing a DX4822-01 Gateway E5300 6gb with 1000 gb HD.
I know nothing about computers but would this be a good computer for someone thats facebooks, puts up alot of pictures and plays spider solitaire? Just that maybe someone could give me a ya or nay. Do you think most screens and printers would be compatable? All she needs is tower. Everything else works fine.

Looks like it should work for her. It looks like she's getting the 1 tb HD which is faster than the standard package. Only drawback is onboard video but that can be addressed later..

What is a onboard video? that can be addressed later? She is working off a a phone to talk with me online. This sounds like it is faster than the standard computer. She said they are about $600. Anything else she should know before ordering one? Just trying to help her out by printing every thing I can for her.

Onboard video means the graphics card is built into the motherboard and normally runs slower than an add-on video card. She can always request that and add a few more dollars, although I don't know how much....Good luck..
